Mindful, Serene Horse Classes in Lansing, MI
Do you want your kids to learn better coping and stress reduction skills?
You want something different from regular riding lessons, but you still want your child or teenager to have a chance to be around horses.
Our equine facilitated learning classes aren’t therapy, but they are taught by therapists and certified instructors. They are a good fit for you if:
Nature and animals seem to ground you and bring you peace
You prefer interactive and trauma-informed teaching
You learn by practicing and experiencing, rather than hearing
You can connect with a kind and beautiful animal and experience peace.
Our equine team is here for you.
How Our Experiential Learning Classes Work with Licensed and Certified Providers
Our Experiential Learning program and therapeutic horse classes are taught by staff that bring decades of experience with horses and PATH training and certification. Our students report that there are a lot of options out there, but that we are one of the only options in the area that uses PATH’s best practice of a licensed mental health professional and certified equine specialist (or a therapist that holds both credentials) in our classes. PATH is the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International, the organization that has set the standard since its inception in 1969 and currently serves over 60,000 participants per year.

Therapeutic horsebackriding is focused on riding a horse to improve social, emotional and physiological goals. Students with medical or mental health needs may qualify for therapeutic riding with us, but this is done individually so you miss the benefits of building community and group interaction. If you’d prefer therapeutic riding, contact us to get set up for that instead and please note that we have a 2-3 month waiting list.

Our program also offers equine facilitated therapy, and we have openings for that beginning next month. Click here to get started with equine therapy.
